Our Philosophy – Sound Foundations

It’s all about the songs.

There are many ways to make a song sound great and to make it stand out from the rest. Our role here at R & D Records is to make that happen.

We believe that a good song has to be built on sound foundations, which means knowing what needs to be done from start to finish to make the sound on your CD (or mp3, m4a, m4p, wmv…) as good, if not better, than the one in your head.

That means a well thought out structure, meaningful lyrics, strong technical skills and an understanding of how different techniques can be used to draw an audience into your song. We are professionally trained musicians who have written, performed and recorded with some of the best in the industry.

When you choose to work with us, it is these skills that you are paying for, not our ability to place a microphone in front of you and press record. When you choose to begin production, we will help you at every stage of recording, so that you can take your music out into the world knowing that it’s built on sound foundations.

Our Environment

We have gone to great lengths to make our writing / production/ recording environment as comfortable as possible. Inspiration is the key to being creative and our surroundings reflect that. We will assist you with finding accommodation if required and will help you with everything needed to make your experience one of a kind.

About Us

We are Ric and Darren Parker, two brothers from Brisbane. We have been involved in the music industry since childhood and actively writing and recording since teenagers.

We have recorded with Sony Music in Sydney and Capitol Records in Los Angeles. Our previous professional relationships include:
